According to Gus, visits from his grandparents (both sets live in Iowa) don’t happen often enough.
M’s parents are visiting, so I’ll keep this post short and sweet. They’ve escaped the bitterly cold Iowa weather and are headed another 5 hours south of us to spend the rest of their winter. To Gus’s delight, they spoiled him rotten once again.
Per usual, Gus’s favorite part was ripping the packaging to shreds. It’s pure entertainment for him and for us. He received a very cute holiday scarf and the movie Marmaduke. Of course, he despised wearing the scarf, but it will definitely make an appearance on next year’s Christmas cards. Gus gave his grandparents their very own Shutterfly photo book filled with…photos of Gus! They loved it!
This is what the room looked like after Gus terrorized the presents. He was very proud of himself. I like to imagine he’s surveying the damage and thinking, “well done…presents. are. destroyed.”.
Hope you all have a terrific Friday! I don’t know about you, but our week crept by at a snail’s pace. We’re so glad the weekend is upon us. We have long park walks, yard work, house cleaning, and trip planning in our future. We’re pretty sure Gus only cares about the long park walks 😉
Do you have exciting plans this weekend? We’d love to hear about it!

It looks like Gus sure enjoyed himself. It’s nice that he’s so well-behaved when guests arrive.
Happy Friday!

What great photos! I especially love the package destruction, it really shows Gus’s enthusiasm and all the fun he had. I bet he enjoys getting into the packages even more than the presents themselves!
Cocoa and DVDs are in our weekend plans, since it’s supposed to snow yet again here. Have a great weekend!

That sounds like a great weekend. You need to decompress from all your visitors…that’s exactly what we did last weekend 🙂

Sometimes I think we should just wrap emtpy boxes since they get more enjoyment from the opening/destruction. Spike and Dru have two therapy visits scheduled for tomorrow and then we humans have some cleaning and relaxing planned. The week was excruciating!

i hope gus doesn’t take this the wrong way (because coming from me, this is a big big compliment), but sometimes he reminds me of a late 80s/early 90s rocker . . . a la Extreme or Poison. Something about the handsome, manly face and the long hair/ears . . .

Ha…love this. Gus hears plenty of 80’s music in our house, so who knows, maybe he was already drawing inspiration from Bret Michaels. And in all seriousness, More Than Words is one of my favorite songs. Ever. And I’m only slightly embarassed to admit that 😀

Gus is so loved and totally deserves it, I love that he is always having so much fun! This week has gone super fast for me so much to do and taking care of visitors from the UK too! Thanks for stopping by blanket, really appreciate your comments! Give Gus a peck on the cheek 🙂

Gus you are unbelievably photogenic. And then there are your Grandparents. Mmmmm not so sure about them. Oh Gus, you don’ t need to wear that scarf if you don’t want to. Its just fun to watch you open the gifts. As for the weekend, we will do our 2 mile walk (wish you could come with us, Gus) and then go to the Friendship Hall for our weekly meeting and indulge in rolls and coffee. Then plans are to go dancing in the evening.
