Happy Saturday!

We hope your weekend is off to a fantastic start.  As planned, our weekend started early yesterday with outdoor dining and a trip to the Japanese Tea Garden.  It was a great day and Gus zonked on the sofa as soon as we got home.  Our intention is to make time at some point this weekend to sort through the 100+ photos we took!

We thought today was a great day to share our photos from Cedar Door in Austin.  We visited Cedar Door this past December when our family was visiting from Iowa.

As mentioned, our visit was in December, hence the “get out of the cold” on the sign.  Texas is anything but cold right now!

As soon as we were seated, our server brought out a fresh bowl of water.  Although we always carry some with us, it was so nice of Cedar Door to bring it out for Gus.  There’s a clear difference between dog friendly and dog tolerant restaurants.  Cedar Door definitely welcomes their furry customers with open arms. 🙂

They also offer a great selection of games to choose from while you dine.  Our group opted for a game of checkers while we waited for our lunch.

Do you know what goes great with a game of dominoes?  Beer.  512’s Pecan Porter to be exact.  Mmmmm….  Is it bad to want a pint of this at 7 a.m. on a Saturday morning?

Because we had the entire patio to ourselves, we let Gus off-leash to roam around a bit.

Dear Texas,

Even though we are leaving you soon, we thank you for your delicious fried mushrooms.

Love, Us

Gus wasn’t lucky enough to indulge on our battered and fried appetizer, but he did get a delectable piece of duck jerky to munch on.

Nom.

One of the entrees we ordered was this Baja Fish Taco with a side of Borracho Beans.  Both were delicious and at the rock bottom price of $3.98!

We couldn’t resist snapping a photo of this olive sculpture.  I heart dirty martinis!

If you find yourself in Austin, TX with your furry loved one, we highly recommend stopping in at Cedar Door.  We promise you’ll be glad you did. 🙂
