Help! We’re Melting!

Posted on April 9, 2011

According to Gus, 96 degrees is too hot for April!

Okay, okay…we’re not really melting.  It just feels like we are.  As planned, we went for a walk + run yesterday and the thought of jumping into the San Antonio River crossed our minds more than a few times.  Even Gus, who loathes water, peered longingly over the edge into the river.  Needless to say, our 40-minute run quickly turned into a shorter 30-minute run.  Gus was more than content to catch a lift in his car while we ran.  Lucky dogger.

Because of the intense heat, we took several water breaks during our walk with Gus.  One of our rest stops happened to be on a ledge right above this sign.  Of course, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to snap a couple of photos. 🙂

We’re getting an early start to our day today and plan on being downtown by 7:00 a.m.  Several months ago, we created a list (I know, another list) of all the places we wanted to visit one last time in and around the San Antonio area.  Appropriately, we named it our “Farewell to Texas” tour.  Tomorrow’s plan is to get a few early morning shots of Gus (and us) in front of the famed Alamo.  We have dozens of photos of the Alamo, but we think we need a few more. 😀

The rest of the weekend will be spent travel planning and packing.  And as always, we hope for more house showings.  Time is running out on getting this house sold by the time we plan on leaving!  Anyone in the market for a 4-bed, 4-bath in San Antonio? 😉
