Low-Key Weekend

Happy Saturday!

We were hopeful earlier in the week that we’d be heading out the door this morning for a long walk at the park.  Unfortunately, after a trip back to the vet yesterday, our park plans were nixed.  We had quite the day yesterday and are too emotionally whipped to detail his blood-work, ultrasound and x-ray results this morning.  In short, the good news is that there is no news.  Sigh…

So instead of walking and playing, Gus has been doing a lot of this…

and some of this…

Although we’re disappointed Gus is still unable to go for a walk, we’re determined to look at things on the bright side.  The extra time at home this weekend will give us the chance to:

  • Continue packing and labeling boxes of winter clothes
  • Finish editing Christmas (!) photos
  • Go through travel books and magazines
  • Finish reading, Amazing Dogs, a book of heartwarming dog stories we won from Rescued Insanity
  • Plan new tricks to teach Gus (when he feels better) from the 101 Dog Tricks book we won from PupLove
  • Catch up on blog reading
  • Watch the NCAA Tournament
  • Call our parents for a nice long chat…awwwww
  • Finally send in Gus’s DNA test
  • Try for the fourth (!) time to purchase an iPad 2

Books + iced coffee is on the agenda for this morning. 🙂

Thank you Kristine  and AJ!  We plan on curling up with both of these books this weekend!
