According to Gus, it’s bad enough his parents choose to walk him even when it’s raining, but then they make it worse by giggling and snapping photos when he’s sopping wet.
It’s beginning to feel like spring in San Antonio! It was only two short weeks ago that San Antonio was bitterly cold and received a dusting of snow. Now, the temperatures are mild and the grass is starting to turn from brown to green. It drizzled on Gus this week during his morning walk, but by the afternoon the clouds parted and the sun shone through. He is not a happy camper when he gets wet. Apparently, he doesn’t dig his post-rain crimped hair style circa 1987.
[Click here for a fabulous post and chart that illustrates why we walk Gus every day, several times a day, no matter what.]
After Gus received a good ol’ towel rub down, he returned to his favorite spot…perched on top of a pillow on the sofa. King Gus is what we refer to him around this house. At least he doesn’t make us bow to him…not yet anyway. 😉
We hope you all have a fantastic weekend! San Antonio’s mild weather is continuing over the weekend. The forecast is calling for mid 70’s and partly sunny skies. Perfect for long strolls at the park.

Awww Gus I think you are adorable even soaking wet. If it makes you feel better crazy humans walk in the rain ALL the time.
It’s starting to feel like spring here in Indiana too!
I’ve never heard of the Pet Blogger hop! I will check it out

But what good parents to wrap you in a fluffy towel and let you perch on a soft pillow!

Hi ya Gus! Parents are weird, they just love to take pictures of us all wet and wrapped up in towels. Next time here is what you do…when you come in the house, all dripping wet, just go and do zoomies all through it, and when they try to dry you off with the towel, just try and eat it…I have found that by doing this it is very hard for them to get pictures of you!
Woof!

Hey Gus,
I hear you! I think we should stick together & refuse to walk when it is wet outside. I call for The Great Soggy Pup Strike! I do have to admit that the puparazzi takes awesome pictures of you… You look stunning with the blue towel!
Cheers!

My mom insists on making her Papillon wear a raincoat. Would you prefer a bright yellow slicker to sopping wet photos? I have to say he looks quite cute in it.
I’m giving away bumper stickers this week. Stop on by and enter to receive one at http://www.allthingsdogblog.com/2011/02/custom-dog-stickers-made-to-order.html

Weather in the 70s, what a lucky dog! Yesterday our high was the 60s, but today it’s back to 40s and Very windy. Enjoy the great weather:)

Gus, As always you are adorable!
Winnie also HATES walking in the rain and baths but seems to milk that miserable and cold thing so she gets extra attention and treats…I can see you may be on to the same tricks!

Walking in the rain is not fun. We don’t know why couples seem to think it’s romantic. They always say that in those single ads, you know?

Hi! Gus! It’s me Buddy, Liked the post and the link to the exercise thing. Now I just need to figure out how to get my person away from the computer long enough for a few of those walks. One a day is all I get! It won’t be long and maybe we can take the Baby Bear. Have a happy day! I’m not going to tell you but we had some weather like yours last week and now it is very cold and heavy rain. They call it liquid sunshine in California but I call it wet and no walk weather.

I squealed when I saw the photo of Bear! We are insanely jealous of all your puppy time! Enjoy it!

I agree with Jack & Scout – not only is walking in the rain not romantic, but that “wet dog smell” can’t possibly lead to romance…..lol!
LOVE Gus peeking out from his towel!

We had a storm move in yesterday. Timmy thinks he can wait for spring to pee.

Gus: Two words: Strategically SHAKE. Those towels can only mop up so much water. Save the rest for an opportune occasion– i.e., on your parents’ bed, in front of a nice mirror, in front of a wall that’s just been painted– you get the idea. We must TEACH humans, my friend. Teach them well.

Hi Gus!
Isn’t it funny how the Humans bundle up one day and the next day they cast their coat aside and go out in shirt sleeves! 🙂

Ha Ha! You got it easy Gus! Yesterday we went for a walk and the snow was too deep and soft and we kept falling through up to our tails! Then the snow got stuck between our toes and we wanted to bite at it. But we still had fun… then today it was so cold and windy our mom wouldn’t take us out to play. She’s such a wimp! Send some rain here… we love to get all wet and dirty… mud is awesome! Love, Cassie and Moxie

It’s so nice to find another San Antonio based pet blogger! I’m just stopping by to say hello and compliment those big, soggy Guys eyes. What an adorable doggy! My human, Jeannie, and I look forward to combing through your archives and following you future adventures!

Hmmm I think shipping Big Carl to San Antonio would cost more than a pet sitter, and I would still have to deal with Mesa and Baily!

Poor Gus! I bet he loves the rub down. Spike and Dru love the rain just because of the drying off. You better be careful, the bowing is coming soon 🙂

I’d like to join the The Great Soggy Pup Strike as well please. I just hate it when my human forces me to walk in the rain, sniffles. Good thing she rewards me with a special treat afterwards at my favorite all-natural haven at http://www.naturalk9supplies.com/

Oh gosh, Gus is so gorgy!!!
I definitely agree with the correlation of exercise and obedience. When I don’t walk Lincoln as often as I should (blame it on weather, a bad day, hangover, etc) I can tell a difference with him. Plus I try to remind myself when he goes out for a walk, it’s a big deal to him since he is cooped up in the house all day long!

Little Greg HATES the rain so much but he LOVES getting dried off. He’s so used to it now that even if it’s just drizzling out and he barely gets wet, he comes home and waits for us to take out the towel and then just stands super patiently as we dry him off.
He’s also very into drying us off — after the rain or after we get out of the shower — it’s pretty adorable. It’s as though he’s repaying us!
