Being Patient Isn’t Easy

According to Gus, being patient isn’t easy.  It’s especially difficult on Saturday and Sunday mornings when all he can think about is taking a long stroll at the park.  Hurry up Mom and Dad!

Weekend mornings all begin the same.  The alarm rings promptly at 7 a.m. and before we know it, a little dogger is standing on our chests, wagging his tail, and showering us with kisses.  It’s a fabulous way to start the day and provides great motivation for us humans to get up and get moving!

After a quick trip out to the backyard to “go do it”, Gus feasts on a piece of his beloved duck jerky.  He then perches himself atop pillows on a kitchen table chair, waiting for us to finish our breakfast and coffee.  Then, the moment he’s been waiting all week for.  We push ourselves away from the table to clean up and get ready.  We imagine this is when Gus starts thinking, “PARK TIME, PARK TIME, OMG IT’S PARK TIME!”  Cue the anxious whimpers and paw stomping…
